Volunteer Service
Termite Management

In the spring of 2002, an employee of McCall Services, visited the Preserve as a parent chaperone on a school field-trip. He noticed that termites were in their natural swarm cycle and volunteered to treat the Preserve’s Native Hut to protect it from termite damage. (When Timucua Indians lived in these homes, the smoke produced everyday by cooking fires kept their homes free of many insect pests.)

The McCall’s team provided this service free of charge, to benefit Jacksonville’s educational community.
